The Dumfries and Galloway Wellness and Recovery College (Course Guide)

The Dumfries and Galloway Wellness and Recovery College, is a local initiative that delivers a range of wellness and recovery focussed learning and development opportunities. Courses will provide students with a range of learning opportunities, these may include: 
  • Learning skills and strategies to cope with challenging times, for example in relation to change and loss
  • Strengthening personal coping skills
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships
  • Helping to understand personal responses to situations  
Courses vary in content and length. You may be interested in signing up for just one course or more.

BHC Volunteers and Service users Supporting the Queens Baton Relay Event

Building Healthy Communities Stranraer” A New View “ Intergenerational Project Designs and produces thier town Banner for the Quenns Baton Relay” 


Pictured are members of BHC Intergenerationa Stranraer A New View l Art Group  who were requested by Stranraer Queens Baton relay committee to Develop a Banner that represented the costal front of stranraer and encapsuled e the Scottish Sartire and the irish sartire and the Flag of Genada where the next commonwealth games will take place after Scotland 
We would like to thank the Volunteers from BHC and Apex Jack & Jill of all trades  partnership project who supported the Arts Group in mounting the Banner in the Town square for the days event

The Banner was so impressive that it will be mounted and displayed  in the Ryan sports Centre for the duration of the commonwealth games


The Arts group also designed and produced a  3 dimensional  mosique which is presently been exhibited at the APEX D&G Centre in stranraer  welcoming the forth comming Commonwealth games
 

BHC Tai Chi For Health West Wigtownshire


As part of the Queens Baton Relay Festive events . Our Tai Chi for Health volunteers Group  provided two demonstration sessions at Stair park in the afternoon

Volunteers from the group are soon to commence Facilitators course training  been run by the Paul Lam Innstitute of Tai Chi for health which commences   in July , with an aim to assist in the capacity building oppertunity to members of the public wishing to uptake Tai chi for Health in the community  and to the benifit of its members 

Queen Baton Welcomed at Agnew Park


Building Health Communities West Wigtownshire Tambourelli,  Sean & Rebbecca    Carry the commonwealth flags at Agnew Park  to welcome the Queens Baton.

Stranraer Wheelchair Curling Club

Representitive members of the group turned up at Agnew park to welcome the Baton as it entered Agnew park with their newly designed wheel arches that were produced for this years Scottish National Wheelchair Curling Championships where they represented Stranraer.
