A Wet but fun day As " Pop Up Youth Village" Event in Stranraer

After all the sunshine we had ,Saturday turn of weather coincided with the arrival of the Pop up youth Village at Agnew Park this weekend , But this did not prevent the young people coming out to have fun .Unfortunately for Building Healthy Communities ( West Wigtownshire ) Tai Chi for health  Group ,the weather prevented them delivering their workshop due to safety concerns identified , this was disappointing for them ,but nerveless , it provided a social gathering of the group and having a hot chocolate at Agnew CafĂ© was enjoyable for all .

There was some very young talented singers who kept the crowd upbeat in the wet weather ,with craft stalls and park fun activities for all to enjoy .

Stranraer 400 need your help! we are forming a Stranraer 400 choir to sing a few songs at the Castle Green on Saturday 22nd July, when we put on the Re enactment of King James granting Stranraer its Royal Charter.
The schools have been practising, and letters have gone home with pupils reminding them of this event, but its the summer holidays, so some may forget! Would you like to join us for the next 3 thursdays at 6pm at the Millennium Centre for around an hour to rehearse?

Everyone welcome, kids, Mums, Dads ,grans and grandads, or folk who are just interested! first rehearsal  was held on Thursday 6th July, Millennium Centre which was well attended , but we need more children and adults ,so if interested contact Eileen Bryndt at the millennium centre . or just pop along and see what its all about

Rhins Men Shed ( Stoneykirk )

It has been a busy early summer for members of the project; we have now replaced all the windows in our workshop and presently giving the Hall outside a fresh coat of paint. And have increased our workshop facilities with industrial power saws to assist members in their productions of Garden Furniture
Windows in , Now for a paint job

We have attended a range of community Car boot sales promoting our products for sale, to support the running costs of the Rhins men shed programme, and are open Monday and Thursdays for members of the public to view the garden products available for sale.
It is pleasing to see more members joining us at the centre, sharing their skills and those learning new skills from one another   and we welcome anyone who has time on their hands to come along and join us

And this week ,our final gathering, as we all take a four week break , we had a final session of Tai chi and Qigong, delivered  by Jane and Patsey and were delighted to have the Thornycroft drop in centre Tai chi members join us for the day
The day was finished of with tea and cake and a sing song which went down well with plenty of laughter and fun

We have been requested to support the Regions Pop up Village youth  Events  in Stranraer on the 15th July an Agnew Park ,by providing some interactive Tai Chi workshops ,with the young people attending ,which we are all looking forward to facilitating and promoting Tai Chi with the younger members of the community and look forwared to seeing you all there .
