New BHC Tai Chi for Health ( seated ) programe to commence at Thorneycroft Day Centre March 17

Building Healthy Communities West Wigtownshire are pleased to announce , working in Partnership with Thorneycroft Drop in centre  Stranraer  the development of an eight week pilot programme Tai chi for Health  ( Seated )
It is not everyone that is capable of standing to participate in Tai Chi for Health ,and our Volunteers facilitators have been listening to the needs of service users that they have been speaking with ,who would like to participate ,but due to lower body strength, feel unable to confidently

Tai Chi for health is an exercise that can be participated both standing and Sitting ,and with this in mind our facilitators have agreed to run a purely seated Tai Chi for health   8 week workshop as a pilot program to develop interest  in its long term needs

Margaret McCurdy ( Manager ) at the Thorneycroft  drop in centre  stated this will be a fantastic program for her service users , having had a taster session last year, the feed back was very positive , so we welcome the opportunity to work with Building Healthy Communities and provide our Facilities to accommodate the workshops
